Motihari, May 18: The teacher of DAV School, Ragini Dubey, as well as the member of the state legislative council, Satish Kumar, have filed cases against each other. While Satish filed the FIR against the teachers at 8pm yesterday, the teachers responded this morning.

On Tuesday, things turned awry after Satish was held hostage and the students of the school went on the rampage, breaking the wind-shield and the windows of his car that was parked on the school premises.

He had gone to the school after his son Abhishek Bharti complained that a teacher threw him out of the classroom and abused him.

In his FIR, Satish has named several schoolteachers, including Ravindra Kumar, C.P. Yadav, Ragini Dubey and nearly 20 others.

On the other hand, four teachers — Ragini Dubey, Ravindra Kumar, C.P. Yadav and Mrityunjay Kumar —have issued an FIR against the MLC, his nephew Prem Kumar and his security personnel today.

Both parties have lodged their cases at the Mufassil police station.

The MLC has lodged cases under sections dealing with attempt to murder and illegal confinement, whereas the schoolteachers, in their FIR, have accused the MLC of disturbing peace in the school. They have also accused the MLC of using force against the schoolteachers.

Sadar deputy superintendent of police Sushant Kumar Saroj has confirmed that cases have been lodged by both the parties against each other with the Mufassil police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The station house officer (SHO) of the Mufassil police station, Ravi Kumar, said: “Besides Ragini Dubey, three other teachers of the school including Ravindra Kumar, C.P. Yadav and Mrityunjay Kumar, have also instituted cases against the MLC, his nephew and his body guard. However, because the cases issued against them are of similar nature, they have been amalgamated.”

He added that after instituting the cases, the police have started investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the district Bar association at a meeting of the general body held today, condemned the incident against the MLC, considering him an advocate on roll. Satish used to practise at a district court before becoming the MLC.

Executive committee member of Motihari Bar Association Anil Kumar Singh said: “In a resolution passed against the school principal and some other teachers of the school, the bar association has urged the East Champaran superintendent of police to initiate an impartial inquiry into the matter as well as the general conduct of the school principal.”
