Cops rescue girl
An autorickshaw driver today made a futile attempt to outrage the modesty of a 20-year-old physically challenged girl in Jehanabad district.
Sources said the girl boarded the three-wheeler for going to Bairangibad on Ghosi road, around 60km south of the state capital.
But the auto driver headed towards Kako road. Suspecting foul play, the girl raised an alarm. Hearing her cry for help, a team of the Town police station chased the autorickshaw.
Spotting the cops, the auto-driver escaped leaving behind the vehicle. The autorickshaw was later seized and brought to the Town police station.
“Efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the autorickshaw driver,” said an officer posted at Jehanabad Town police station.
