ISKCON to turn Gokuldham

The premises of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at Budhha Marg would be decked up like Gokuldham for Janmashthami on September 2.

Patna: The premises of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at Budhha Marg would be decked up like Gokuldham for Janmashthami on September 2.

Devotees taking part in the three-day Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON's state chapter will witness various tableaus from the life of Lord Krishna, while the ISKCON premises would be decorated with 25 tonnes of flower.

"Besides this we will bring special dresses to decorate Lord Krishna. Dresses worth Rs 1.5 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 50,000 are being brought from Vrindavan. We would use rose, jasmine, marigold and exotic flowers from Thailand to decorate," said chairperson of the ISKCON state chapter Krishna Kripa Das.

He said: "Rasleela would be performed by artistes on all three days of Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON. The main celebrations would be held on January 3 midnight when Mahaabhishek and Mahaarti of the Lord would be performed. The Mahaabhishek would be performed by 108 pots filled with gangajal for the first time. We are organising all the programmes on our temple premises. Earlier, we used to arrange cultural events at SK Memorial Hall. This year it would be very special."

He said devotes would be coming from Australia, Russia, United States among other countries. "While devotees from Mathura and Vrindavan are slated to participate. At local level, we are expecting around 20,000-25,000 crowd every day," added Das.
