Patna, Sept. 9: Ignorance is bliss. At least so it is when it comes to young BJP supporters who are welcomed with open arms in the party to make it heavier in strength.

The young supporters, who are mostly school and college dropouts, are ignorant about the name of the state BJP president, the national party president or even the full form of BJP.

Despite their ignorance, the state BJP president, C.P. Thakur, gave every individual a warm welcome at a function in the party office today.

Today, 100 National Congress Party (NCP) youth supporters, along with their leaders, joined the BJP in the presence of Thakur.

Before the state president could reach the venue, the young supporters entered the party office chewing gutkha, paan and smoking cigarettes.

The Telegraph spoke to some of the supporters and found that they were “misguided” by the senior leaders.

When asked the name of the Bihar BJP president, school dropout Sagar Kumar, who has come from Digha to join the party, said: “I don’t know the name, I have just come here to change my political party. My leaders told me last night that we are going to Patna to change the party.”

Asking about the full form of the BJP, Sagar said: “Is it necessary to know the full form of the party? Kindly leave me alone, I don’t know.”

Speaking to another supporter, Rahul Kumar, a resident of Lodhipur regarding the name of the BJP president, Rahul said: “His name is L.K. Advani and he is a very honest leader. Today, I am feeling proud to work under him.”

When The Telegraph asked Thakur regarding the ignorance of the leaders and the supporters, Thakur said: “These young leaders were in search of good job and today they have got it. In the changing scenario and the political atmosphere, they will play a significant role in bringing change in the society. The support of such kind of youngsters is very important. They will form a new Bihar.”
