Patna, April 17: A day after a bus conductor was shot by two motorcycle-borne assailants, the police are yet to make an arrest in the case.

The deceased, identified as Pawan Kumar, was the conductor of Krishna Rath bus, shuttling between Patna and Muzaffarpur. The incident took place at Ram Lakhan Path under the Kankerbagh police station on Saturday noon.

“At this moment, it is not possible to say anything. The police will make a breakthrough soon,” an officer said. An enmity angle cannot be ruled out, the officer added.

The police are also looking for the passenger who had an altercation with the conductor early in the morning.

Police sources said Pawan had an argument with a passenger regarding a seat. When the bus was returning to Muzaffarpur, the same man, with an accomplice, stopped the bus, pulled out the conductor and shot him from point-blank range, the police added.
