Holi was celebrated in Spanish tomatina style at the newly inaugurated amusement park, Hungama, on Sunday.
The park administration made the necessary arrangement for revellers to enjoy the festival in a filmy style. The tomatina festival was the special attraction of the day. Trolleys of tomatoes were brought in before the revellers started pouring in.

Dressed in costumes provided by the park, the crowd, which mostly consisted of youngsters, had a fun-filled day as they squirted tomatoes at each other and dunked their friends in the pool. Music was there, too. From water rides to carousal ride to wave pool — the revellers enjoyed the day with their friends and families with food and soft drinks. A dance group from Calcutta performed on the occasion. The femme brigade danced to rocking beats of popular Bollywood Holi tracks.

“It’s a one-stop amusement solution with amazing water rides and exciting swings. I love the way they have created artificial waves in the pool. It is a perfect destination for families. The park has a lot of open space where family members or friends can plan a picnic. The lip-smacking food was the feather in the cap,” Shruti, one of the revellers said.

In another pre-Holi party at The Bharat Scouts and Guides ground, a rain dance was organised for
revellers. They let their hair down and enjoyed the colourful rain dance. It was a perfect blend of food, music, dance and fun.

The DJ belted out some electric high voltage music making the event happening for the youngsters. Since the Holi celebration is incomplete without food, the organisers arranged traditional cuisine, including dahi vada, mal pua, jalebi, rabri, kachuri, pakoda, bhaang and thandai for the revellers.

The revellers grooved to Bolly tracks like Desi Boyz and Zandu Balm. The men gave a tough competition to the women. “I am surprised to see girls enjoying the day with such enthusiasm. But still we gave them a tough competition. We were set to dance to any track,” said Amit, a reveller.

White was the favourite colour for the girls. From white suits to white tees — the girls kept the fashion quotient quite high.

Shristi in white tee shirt and check hot pants turned heads. “I simply love the music and the rain dance. The weather is also cloudy adding extra edge to the celebration. I love the traditional food and the music. My favourite Holi song is Rang Barse sung by Amitabh Bachchan in the Silsila,” said Shristi.
