Patna, May 8: The finance department has written letters to all departmental heads that salary payment of employees, whose database would not be provided to the treasury concerned, will be stopped from June.
Sharing this information through a press statement issued today, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds the finance portfolio, said that the database entry programme of state government employees was started on May 5 and this has to be completed by June 17.
Different departments have been clubbed into groups and a detailed timeframe has been prepared for each group.
Given that number of employees is huge in case of home and human resource development (HRD) departments, special time has been given to them for data entry work.
While data entry of home department employees has to be done between May 26 and June 1, in case of HRD employees. the entries would be made between June 2 and 17.
The state government, at present, does not have a centralised database of its 4.12 lakh employees. Under the current drive, apart from personal details of employees, information like date of joining, salary increment, PAN card number, details of bank accounts in which salary is credited etc. would be complied.
The data collection work would be done by the drawing and disbursing officers who would provide these details to treasuries concerned.
“This data base is going to be of great help in efficient fiscal management as government would get a clear- idea in advance about the non-plan expenditure,” Modi said.
and added that employees too would be benefited by the move as government would be better placed in fiscal management for payment of salaries and pension of its employees.
State government has already got Rs. 2.50 crore from the centre for doing this work and the said fund has been given to the state in accordance with the recommendations of the 13th finance commission. State would get the reaming Rs. 7.50 crore fund under this head in 2013-14.
