Patna, March 28: The state government has confirmed its participation in Hannover Messe, a five-day industrial trade fair scheduled to start at Hannover, Germany, from April 13.

State industries minister Shyam Rajak said the delegation would comprise government officials, mainly from industries department, and would also have industrialists.

The department was coordinating with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) towards setting up a stall at the India Pavilion at the fair.

"Bihar would take part in the fair for which a delegation would be sent. Development commissioner S.K. Negi, principal secretary (industries) Tripurari Sharan, director (industries) Shailesh Thakur and Biada managing director Anshuli Arya would be part of it. The state is in talks with CII, which would manage the India Pavilion there towards providing the state a space to set up a stall," said the minister.

The CII authorities confirmed the same.

"We received a letter from the Bihar industries department earlier this week. Bihar would definitely have a stall at the fair. CII would ensure the same. Final details would focus on promoting the state and presenting it in a positive manner. The different art forms of the state are expected to get placed in the stall apart from highlighting the state's industrial policies and incentives," said Abhijeet Rajan, the executive of CII (Bihar chapter).

Hannover Messe is touted as one of the biggest industrial fairs in the world and holds importance for India this year, as it is an official partner country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German chancellor Angela Merkel would inaugurate the fair jointly.

Singapore ties

CII today suggested that the state government must hold a dialogue with Singapore-based Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to create a roadmap to promote "ease of doing business in the state".

CII recently signed an MoU with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS), to help improve India's rating on ease of doing business.
