Gandhi devotion

Tarkeshwar Prasad, a self-professed Gandhi bhakt (devotee), and his wife Gayatri Devi, worship Mahatma Gandhi on his 147th birth anniversary in Motihari on Sunday. For the past 17 years, Tarakeshwar has been celebrating the special occasion by decking up his residence.It was his non-violent protest in favour of farmers in the erstwhile undivided Champaran that provided the template for his satyagraha that drove the British out of India.On October 2 every year, Tarkeshwar decorates the entire Dharmasamaj Road on

Gandhi Sangrahalaya secretary Braj Kishore Singh, scholars, litterateurs and intellectuals of the town visited Tarkeshwar's house on Sunday. District board chairperson Priyanka Jaiswal inaugurated the celebrations, while Mahatma Gandhi Central University vice-chancellor Arvind Agrawal was the chief guest. School students presented cultural events.
