Patna airport has released its winter schedule with the chilly season with its foggy conditions knocking on the door. The timings came into effect on October 30 and will be applicable till March 26, 2017. Timings of several flights have been changed.
According to the new schedule, the timings of 25 flights have been changed for different destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ranchi, Calcutta and Bangalore. Flights have been re-scheduled of all the four operators - Jet Airways, GoAir, IndiGo and Air India. All these flights operate on a daily basis.
Based on the observation of the present weather system, the changes to timings of different flights have been made, said Santosh Kumar, assistant general manager (air traffic management) at Patna airport.
Jet Airways in its new schedule will operate three flights per day. As per the schedule, Jet Airways flight (9W 731) will depart from Patna at 5pm and reach Delhi at 6.50pm.
Flight number 9W 728 will depart from Patna as per the new schedule at 2.20pm and reach Delhi at 4.10pm.
The new schedule of the third flight, 9W 722, will be effective from November 3 to November 30. It will depart from Patna at 1.30pm and reach Delhi at 3.20pm. Airline sources said the timing of this flight might be changed once against after November 30 depending on the weather conditions in Patna.
GoAir will be operating six flights from Patna daily - three to Delhi, two to Ranchi and one to Calcutta - at changed timings. The airline's flight from Patna to Delhi, G8 134, will now depart from Patna at 8.25am and reach Delhi at 10.15am. Similarly, G8 144 will leave Patna at 12.45pm and reach Delhi at 2.30pm while G8 150 will depart from Patna at 5.10pm and arrive in Delhi at 6.55pm.
The Patna-Ranchi GoAir flight (G8 272) will depart from Patna at 12.15pm and reach Ranchi at 1pm. The other flight to Ranchi (G8 585) will leave Patna at 2.10pm and reach Ranchi at 2.55pm.
The sole flight to Calcutta (G8 537) will depart from Patna at 3.05pm and reach the Bengal capital at 4.02pm.
The time schedule has been changed for all three Air India flights on the Patna-Delhi sector. Air India flight 410 will now depart from Patna at 12.40pm and will reach Delhi at 2.25pm. The AI 408 flight will leave Patna at 3.25pm and arrive at Delhi at 5.10pm while AI flight 416 will depart from Patna at 8.55pm and reach Delhi at 10.25pm.
IndiGo will fly to Delhi, Calcutta, Ranchi, Lucknow and Bangalore as per the new schedule.
IndiGo flight 6E 678 will now depart from Patna at 9.35am and reach Delhi at 11.15am. Another flight for Delhi (6E 367) will leave Patna at 11am and reach Delhi at 12.40pm.
Similarly, IndiGo's flight to Ranchi (6E 637) will depart from Patna at 3pm and arrive at Ranchi at 3.45pm while flight 6E 787 will leave from Patna at 3.35pm and reach Ranchi at 4.15pm.
The Patna-Calcutta flight (6E 634) will leave Patna at 10am and reach Calcutta at 11am. The flight scheduled for Lucknow will depart from Patna at 10.55am and arrive in Lucknow at 11.55am.
An IndiGo official said for now the timing of most of the flights have been changed by a few minutes as there was little scope for ushering in major changes due to limitations of Patna airport to handle flights.
