Motihari: The Pipra Kothi police in East Champaran late Tuesday lodged an FIR against 10 people, including five named accused, for the murder of RTI activist Rajendra Prasad Singh in Mathbanwari village on Tuesday afternoon.

The FIR names Satyendra Singh, Sudhanshu Singh, Ajay Singh, Pramod Singh and Omprakash Yadav alias Subhash Kumar as key conspirators.

The slain activist's wife, Kishori Devi, has said her husband had a property dispute with his brother Satyendra Singh and nephew Sudhanshu Singh, who had threatened him with dire consequences.

His life was, however, under threat from Ajay Singh and his brother Pramod Singh and a former village headman Omprakash Yadav for exposing irregularities in various schemes.

The family members of the slain activist, who had survived three attempts on his life in the past few years, accused the police of ignoring the threat to his life.
