Patna: Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Friday attacked Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan for only thinking about his family and neglecting his constituency.
The RJD leader and leader of Opposition in the Assembly was addressing a public meeting in Hajipur on the eve of Dalit icon and Paswan by caste, Baba Chouhar Mal's birth anniversary.
He reminded the people how Lalu Prasad helped Ram Vilas when he was going through tough times. "It seems Ram Vilas ji has forgotten the good work which my father did for him. It was my father who sent him to the Rajya Sabha in 2010," Tejashwi said, also attacking the Union minister's son Chirag Paswan for saying well-off Dalits and those coming from the decent financial backgrounds should give up reservation benefits to help others from the community.
"Paswan ji's son talks about taking away reservation from well-off Dalits but his entire family contests election from reserved seats," Tejashwi taunted. "I challenge all three (Ram Vilas, his younger brother Ram Chandra Paswan and son Chirag) to contest elections from general seats if they are honest."
Tejashwi, the MLA from Raghopur, claimed all was not well in the LJP and their leaders have started joining the RJD. He cited the examples of Anil Kumar Sadhu, Paswan's son-in-law, and former LJP MP Sukhdev Paswan.
"The BJP is not going to give him (Paswan) more seats and more people will soon join the RJD. The LJP will become a party led by family members," Tejashwi said.
