Patna, July 6: Come August 12, filmmaker Prakash Jha will have multiple reasons to be happy. Residents of the state capital can enjoy Aarakshan at Jha’s P&M Mall.
Surprised? Don’t be. The first-of-its-kind multiplex is set to open doors by the last week of July.
Of Mexican company Cinepolis, the four-screen multiplex will entertain film buffs of the state capital with every state-of-the-art feature.
With digital projectors, digital Dolby Surround system and a seating capacity of 1,000, Cinepolis will be a breath of fresh air for residents, who have to struggle for choices and cinemas on the weekend.
They can choose among four films at the box office out of 12 shows a day, sit back in their plush seats in air-conditioned auditoriums and enjoy.
K.S. Sinha, general manager, P&M Mall, said: “This is something very exclusive in Patna and will definitely change the movie-viewing experience. Earlier, people had to throng single-screen cinemas but once the multiplex opens, the residents will have entertainment thrice over. They can enjoy the latest movies, shop at P&M and go to the food court, gaming zone or open terrace restaurants to have a good time.”
On the multiplex, Sinha added: “Of the four screens, two will also have 3D facilities. Fine picture quality and sound clarity provided by the digital projectors will also greet the film buffs. The ticket prices will be on a par with the market prices but there is more good news for residents. They can know about the movie that would be screened at the multiplex at www.cinepolisindia.com and would also be able to book their tickets online 24x7.”
This is the third Cinepolis multiplex in the country after the ones at Amritsar and Bangalore. Sources said like its north and south cousins, Cinepolis here will meet every international standard.
A source said: “Cinepolis is the world’s largest multiplex chain and will definitely meet the international standards of movie viewing. This is the third in the chain after Amritsar and Bangalore. Apart from the better picture and sound quality, there is also lot of leg space. People can move easily along the seat aisles and spread his legs, as there is adequate distance between the seats.”
Even if the person in front of you stands up, you don’t need to worry. It won’t obstruct your view. Cinepolis will also offer refreshments to the audience from a personal buffet at Coffee Tree.
“Cinepolis is different as other multiplex chains engage McDonalds and other food chains for refreshments,” added the source.
However, the premiere of Aarakshan is also going to be a big draw for Cinepolis. Several stars, including superstar Amitabh Bachchan, are expected to come for the premiere of Jha’s movie.
A source said: “We want Big B to come. We also want Deepika Padukone, who has not visited Patna yet. We are not sure if Saif Ali Khan will come for the premiere but we hope to have him as well. At present, Cinepolis is approaching the stars but their dates or plans have not been finalised. But we can definitely expect some superstars.”
Another source added Manoj Bajpai is also a strong possibility at the premiere.
