Patna, April 21: A medical board has been constituted at the Danapur sub-divisional hospital to speed up the investigation into the death of 22-year-old Nazreen Bano, who had died under mysterious circumstances on April 19.

A case of unnatural death has been lodged at the Khagaul police station.

“Generally in an unnatural death case, the viscera are preserved for later examination. As a result the post-mortem report does not say much about the circumstances and other details of the death. The police don’t want to delay the investigation, hence, doctors at the Danapur sub-divisional hospital have constituted a board to study the viscera,” a police officer, on condition of anonymity, told The Telegraph. Sources added that the report was expected by Saturday night.

Nazreen was found dead at her home in Badi Khagaul area when the police reached the place after getting a frantic call from her husband, Mohammed Mahfooz alias Raja.

Her body was placed on an ice slab by her mother Samima Khatoon who accused Raja of killing Nazreen. Samima is the prime suspect in the case, while Raja is also under the scanner, police said.
