Patna: Bihar Legislative Council vice-chairman Harun Rashid has convened a meeting on July 27 to discuss issues concerning de-siltation of drains in Patna.
Apart from urban development and housing minister Suresh Sharma, the department principal secretary and commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation would also be present in the meeting. In addition to them, the members of the council who had any issues on the subject would also be invited to take part in the meeting.
A decision to this effect was taken during the pre-lunch session of the council on Wednesday in which several questions and their supplementary questions were raised in the Upper House by different members.
Minister Suresh Sharma kept on reading from the written replies to the questions which failed to satisfy the members. Prominent among those who raised questions include Ram Vachan Rai, Kedar Nath Pandey, Subodh Rai, Dilip Choudhary, Ramchandra Purbey and Sanjay Mayukh.
Facing a volley of questions on the same issue, Sharma assured the House that he would get the matter inquired and provide a detailed report on the issue. At this juncture deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi intervened and said that to have a thorough discussion on the issue a meeting could be convened and all the members concerned could put up their point.
The members readily agreed and then the vice-chairman informed the House that he would convene the meeting on July 27.
