Patna, Nov. 4 (PTI): The JD(U) today slammed Narendra Modi’s recent twin visits to Bihar, saying he came to disrupt peace and to derive political mileage out of the blasts.

“It was an outright attempt to vitiate peace and communal harmony in Bihar,” JD(U) state unit chief Bashishtha Narayan Singh said. On the BJP’s argument that it was to console the kin of blast victims, he said: “If Modi was so sincere about victims’ tears, he should have met families of those killed in a number of such incidents in his own state.”

Taking exception to a large number of Gujarat police officers accompanying Modi during his second visit, he said police of another state taking law and order in their hands infringes upon the country’s federal structure. On Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s remark that people should use brooms to remove muck from outside, apparently aimed at Modi, Singh said Nitish’s comments should not be blown out of proportion as people remove dirt from their houses during Diwali.
