Pappu, a student of a prestigious school, seeks help from a genie to tide over his adjustment problems but is advised on ways he could solve his own problems.

Pappu Ki Pugdandi, directed by Seema Desai, was one of the two films screened on Friday as the curtains came down on the three-day Children's Film Festival organised by the Children's Film Society, India, and Vishwa Samvad Kendra at Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir. Another animated film on a monkey, a cat and a donkey speaking about folklores was also screened.

Krish, Trish and Baltiboy is an amalgamation of three stories and in one of them, a Punjab farmer meets a tiger but is saved for his wife's sharp thinking. The spectators - mostly schoolchildren - found it "hilarious".

"It was hilarious to watch the tiger to speak in Punjabi," Class VII student of BD Public School Gautam Kumar said about the film directed by Munjul Shroff and Tilak Raj Shetty. "In one of the scenes, the tiger scared the farmer saying ' Main tanau kha jawanga (I will eat you)'. It sounded very funny."

Apurva, a Class V student of BD Public School, also loved how the "farmer's wife smartly dealt with the tiger in the guise of a demon".

Interacting with the students, film society chief execu tive officer Shravan Kumar told the kids to send in their stories, which would be scrutinised and selected for the next films screened by the society.
