Patna: Law and order has improved in the state, Governor Satya Pal Malik said after hoisting the national flag at Gandhi Maidan for Republic Day.

"Establishing the rule of law is the top priority of the government. Organised crime has been stopped and this will continue," he said in his speech which is approved by the state government.

The governor said the state government is taking action against corrupt government employees and strengthening and making transparent administrative and financial set-ups. He mentioned that over 17.76 crore applications have been received under the Right to Service Act, and that grievances of 2.42 lakh persons have been redressed during the last 18 months.

He quoted from the agriculture roadmap at length and Nitish's seven resolves also figured prominently in his speech. He also said that the government had received investment proposals worth Rs 5,000 crore.
