Two contract killers, who were on their way to Punjab to allegedly execute a murder, were arrested on Friday.
Sunit and Rajnish, both 20-year-old, were arrested from RNC Mor under the jurisdiction of Kankerbagh police station on Friday morning. During interrogation, the youths said they were supposed to travel to Jalandhar on Saturday to commit a murder.
“They were given a contract for the murder,” Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said.
He added: “The duo were travelling in an autorickshaw. Since we are carrying out checks on autorickshaws, which do not have the unique identification number, our patrol team stopped a vehicle and searched the two men who were in it. One 7.65 bore pistol, four cartridges, two magazines and three cellphones were found on them. The duo were taken into custody after which they disclosed that on September 17, they had shot at one Shiv Mandal.”
“They are professional killers. They had shot Mandal after putting a pistol inside his mouth. Mandal is being treated at Patna Medical College and Hospital,” he said.
