Collision deaths

Jehanabad (PTI): Two persons, Vidhuti Sharan (34) and Ravindra Kumar Yadav (32), were killed in a collision between a tractor-trolley and an autorickshaw at Bemhimathia village in Jehanabad on Wednesday night.

The tractor driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded.

Jumbo kills man

Motihari (PTI): An elephant trampled a mahout at Mangalapur village in East Champaran on Thursday. The elephant went on the rampage without provocation and trampled Triloki Raut (40) to death, Kalyanpur police station in-charge Manzar Alam said. The body has been sent for a post-mortem, he said, adding that a forest team had been called to bring the animal under control. The mahout was a resident of Katariya village.

Gesture

Patna: The IPS Officers' Wives Association on Wednesday distributed books to students of classes IX and X at a blind school at Kadamkuan. The association also distributed clothes and copies. Association president Poonam Thakur and its secretary Madhurima Raj were present on the occasion.
