Online help for students

An online registration facility was launched on Monday for students enrolled with Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination's (BBOSE's) distance learning courses.

Education minister Ashok Choudhary inaugurated the portal. The BBOSE conducts Matriculation and Class XII examination for distance learning students and the degree is equivalent to any state, CBSE or ICSE boards.

"The online registration process will help students as they can enrol with BBOSE from any part of the state," said Ashok Chaudhury. "A student can register till May 31. The BBOSE also provides degrees to students who are enrolled with various skill development courses run by the state government."

Science workshop

More than 150 students of computer science and management attended a workshop on data science and its applications on Monday.

The workshop was organised by the Indian Institute of Business Management in collaboration with Computer Society of India.

Amrendra Kumar, a data scientist with Microstrategy Developer in Washington DC, explained about the importance of data science and its application in health care, business and industries, government administration, space sciences and meteorological sciences.
