Patna: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has proposed to partner with the Bihar industries department to promote investment in the state, especially in the food processing and agriculture machinery sectors.

The proposal came while a CII delegation led by its president designate and vice-chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Rakesh Bharti Mittal, met chief minister Nitish Kumar at 1 Aney Marg on Wednesday.

While talking to Nitish, the delegation praised the industrial investment promotion policy formulated by the state last year and said CII will publicise it across the country to attract entrepreneurs and investors.

During talks, the CII delegation also proposed to the chief minister that it could team up with the state industries department and organise investment summits to showcase opportunities in Bihar.

Nitish liked the suggestion and gave necessary directions in this regard to industries department principal secretary S. Siddharth.

CII eastern region vice-chairman Umesh Chaudhary, eastern and northeast regional director Nita Karmakar, Bihar state council chairman P.K. Sinha and former chairman S.P. Sinha and others were in the delegation that met Nitish.
