Doctor shot at, critical

Motihari: Shashi Bhushan Prasad, a doctor posted at Sangrampur primary health centre in East Champaran district, was shot at and critically injured on Sunday.

The victim had lodged a complaint against a pharmacy owner for providing wrong medicines to a patient admitted to the health centre a few days ago. He has then referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Remand

Chhapra: Mubarak Dear, alias Sipahi, the prime accused in a case related to an objectionable video being posted on a social networking site, was produced in court on Sunday. He was remanded in 14 days' judicial custody.

Suicide

Gopalganj: Doma Yadav, a resident of Balivan Sagar village, committed suicide on Sunday by hanging himself from a ceiling fan, allegedly because he found out that his sister-in-law Sunita Devi had stolen Rs 10,000 from him.

Patna: The Bihar Council of Women will organise a Sawan milan programme on August 16 at Lady Stephenson Hall.
