Nod to bridge plan

Muzaffarpur: The government on Wednesday approved the plan to construct three bridges on the Bagmati and Budhi Gandak rivers in Aurai and Minapur blocks of the district. Bihar State Pul Nirman Nigam Limited will start work after preparing a detailed project report. RJD Aurai MLA Surendra Kumar said the bridges will be constructed for an estimated Rs 112 crore.

Temple

Chhapra: BJP Maharajganj MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal on Wednesday raised the issue of re-construction of a temple in Pakistan and urged New Delhi to intervene. Raising the issue in Parliament, Sigriwal said 170 years ago, a saint from Dahiyawan Mohalla in Chhapra - Advaita Nand Paramhans - went to Teri in Pakistan and stayed in the country till his death. The temple was constructed after his death but damaged in 1997.

Inspection

Munger: Aashish Bharati, the Munger superintendent of police, on Wednesday conducted surprise inspection of all 23 police posts in the district. He found 10 policemen, including some officers, absent from duty on the first day of the month-long Shravani Mela.

Arrest in topper scam

Patna: The special investigating team probing into the Intermediate result scam on Wednesday arrested six employees of the Intermediate Council. They were charged with dual registration of students of Vishun Roy College in Vaishali.

Tweet jab

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday lambasted the government in a tweet for its decision to send all adult members of a family to jail if a liquor bottle was found in a house.

College reply

Patna: The high court division bench of Acting Chief Justice I.A. Ansari and Justice Anjana Mishra on Wednesday directed the government to file a detailed reply within two weeks about the functioning of government nursing colleges across Bihar.

RBI workshop

Patna: RBI organised a daylong financial literacy workshop at St Joseph's Covent High School on Wednesday. Around 50 Class X students attended the programme.

Debate

Patna: UCO Bank held a debate on Wednesday on "Rajbhasha Hindi, banking and economy".

Cop event

Patna: Vinay Kumar additional director-general, CID, and Preeta Verma ADG, modernisation and State Crime Records Bureau, will attend a mid-career training event in Hyderabad in September.
