Probe into varsity

Patna: Governor Ram Nath Kovind on Monday appointed a one-member committee headed by Justice (retd) Sadanand Mukherjee to probe into irregularities in appointment of employees, purchase of equipment and alleged nepotism at the Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University.

Raj Bhavan gave its nod to the inquiry after the chancellor's office received many complaints.

Priest death

Muzaffarpur: A resident of Gaurihar Mun, Sidheshwar Ram, was arrested on Monday for interrogation in Ram Janki temple head priest Ram Ishwar Das's murder and loot of idols.
