RJD poll list

Patna: RJD state unit president Ram Chandra Purbey on Sunday released the list of its 10 candidates for the Council polls. The candidates include Dilip Rai (Sitamarhi), Subodh Rai (Hajipur), Mishri Lal Yadav (Darbhanga), Roma Bharti (Samastipur), Sanjay Singh (Munger), Vinay Kumar (Aurangabad), Mahant Satyadev Das (Gopalganj) Binod Kumar (Siwan).

Murder

Begusarai: A youth, identified as Manish Kumar, was murdered and dumped near Vishnupur Mirzapur in Begusarai district late on Saturday night. Five persons have been made named accused in the case.

Fake note haul

Bettiah: Fake currency worth Rs 10.05 lakh was seized during a raid on a mini liquor factory in South Tenua Sheihtoli village under the jurisdiction of Nautan police station area on Saturday night.

Manoj Yadav, Anil Kuer and Durgesh Yadav were nabbed in that connection. Bettiah SP Surabh Kumar Shah said: "Eighty litres of spirit and several other articles were also recovered."

Campaign

Patna: DAV BSEB students on Sunday distributed almost 40 dustbins to vendors during a "We for you" campaign, highlighting pollution concerns. The campaign aimed to encourage the youths to keep their localities clean.

Suicide

Patna: One Vijay Poddar (50), husband of a woman constable, Bharti Kumari, allegedly committed suicide at their Mahavir Colony residence under the jurisdiction of Beur police station on Sunday. Family feud was suspected to have driven the man to the act.

Jail raid

Patna: A joint team of police and administrative officials raided Masaurhi sub-divisional jail on Sunday and seized prohibited articles such as knifes and narcotics.
