Power cut

Patna, March 9: Some prominent areas like Sadaquat Ashram, Mainpura, Nehru Nagar, Chasma Centre, Gosain Tola and LCT Ghat among others would face a three-hour power cut from 11am tomorrow because of low-tension reconductoring work.

Patna: BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday said chief minister Nitish Kumar must explain how the land acquisition bill was anti-farmer. He said under the new ordinance, farmers would get four times the prevailing rural market rate and twice the urban rate for giving up their land.

Roadmap jab

Patna: Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav slammed chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday for running the government without any roadmap and for revoking 33 decisions the Manjhi government took.

Police outpost

Patna: The home department has approved the proposal for setting up of a police outpost at Dharnai village in Jehanabad district. The government would have to bear an additional expenditure of Rs 63.51 lakh per annum.

Scam reply

Patna: A division bench of Patna High Court of Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy and Justice Vikash Jain on Monday directed principal secretary, food and consumer protection, to file a reply in connection with the misappropriation of kerosene oil. Block supply officer of Kuchaikote in Gopalganj district was accused of involvement in the scam.

Money use

Patna: The high court on Monday directed the state government to file a reply in connection with the misuse of public money in allocation of works to non-government organisations. The district health manager and district accounts manager, Gaya division, allegedly granted the funds under various schemes related to AIDS under the National Rural Health Mission.
