Poll timing tweak

Patna: The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday said that of the 50 constituencies that go to vote on October 28, poll timing for 40 will be from 7am to 5pm, while in 10 constituencies (Masaurhi, Paliganj, Agiaon, Tarari, Taraiya, Amnaur, Vaishali, Raghopur, Patepur and Islampur), the voting will end at 4pm.

Additional chief electoral officer R. Lakshmanan said timings were tweaked because of the Naxalite menace.

Patna: The BJP said the dream of the Grand Alliance of winning the elections was punctured in the first two phases. Nand Kishore Yadav said the Grand Alliance leaders are indulging in negative campaigning.

Bounty found

Gaya: Cops on Sunday found 1kg gold biscuits estimated at Rs 26 lakh stolen from a jewellery shop at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. The booty was found at one Sunil Kumar's home near Chandauti Mor.

Patna: A joint delegation of the state chapter of Indian Medical Association and Bihar Health Services Association met Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das asking him to remove the administrative control of mukhiya and zila parishad chairman over government doctors in Jharkhand.
