Patna, Aug. 24: You could be in for a surprise if you visit School of Creative Learning this month. For, you might find the students coming up with paintings only using the number 36 or doodle inside two square inch boxes.

In this school at Nargada village on the outskirts of Patna, students are encouraged to be creative and stretch their abilities through many such exercises.

At present, the school is organising its month-long Creative Olympiad 2011-12, where 22 events have been planned in five groups, including enhancement of concentration, memory, thinking, power of observation and imagination.

While others might rebuke children if they play for hours, School of Creative Learning encourages its students to bounce tennis balls for hours to strengthen focus. Nitish Kumar, a student of Class IX, played the game for nearly four hours at the Olympiad and ended his turn with 11,484 bounces.

“It was my sheer passion to excel in the activity, which I like the most. It helps to enhance my concentration power and also allows me to do well in academics,” said the chief minister’s namesake. He has also recently made it to the top 50 in a reality dance show of a local television channel.
