Patna: The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha will launch a website in May to register youths working outside Bihar.
Nitin Navin, the president of the state unit youth wing, told The Telegraph on Friday that the website to register Bihar youths on the platform will start sometime in May.
The youth wing's plan is aimed at generating a pool of youth ambassadors from Bihar across the country who would be motivated to brand the where they live. It intends to register at least 25,000 youths through the website and about 1 lakh youths in the long term.
To start with, the programme would focus on Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The registration programme will, however, not be limited to the website and the state youth wing plans to organise special programmes in identified cities. Youths would be motivated there to contribute to the branding of Bihar and also share their messages.
"We have already identified at least 15 such youths in the target cities and their services would be used to associate other youths in this initiative," Navin said, adding that all details, including the name of the native villages of the registered youths would be put up on the website.
Apart from linking Bihar's youths living outside the state, the unit will organise programmes to enhance its penetration among youths. For this, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha will organise programmes at panchayat levels on the BJP's foundation day - April 6 and 7 - to felicitate 100 first-time voters in each panchayat.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BJP youth wing in Patna on Friday. State BJP president Nityanand Rai and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national general secretary and state in-charge Abhijat Mishra attended the meeting.
The meeting also decided that on the eve of Bhimrao Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 12, the youth wing will organise special feasts in all the Lok Sabha constituencies.
