Rebel weapons seized
Patna: Four weapons reportedly belonging to the Naxalites were seized during a raid on a Maoist hideout in Nawada district on Sunday.
Nawada superintendent of police Parvez Akhtar said the raid was conducted at Adagawan village following a tip-off that some rebels had assembled there to plan an attack on security personnel. The officer said the rebels managed to escape.

Money found
Patna: The Bengal police, with the help of their Jamui counterparts, on Sunday recovered Rs 1.7 crore belonging to HDFC Bank and nabbed 10 people in this connection. The recovered money was part of a consignment of Rs 4 lakh, which had reportedly fallen off a cash van in Calcutta on September 9 this year.

Gaya: A proposal is being prepared to open a branch of Medanta Institute in Patna and later, another in Gaya. Praveen Chandra, chairman, division of international cardiology, Medanta Institute, said the aim was to provide advanced and cost-effective treatment.
Robbery
Patna: Armed criminals waylaid 10 vehicles and looted cash and valuables worth Rs 7 lakh from the occupants on Patna-Gaya road near Khisersarai in Gaya district on Sunday.

Sitamarhi: An FIR was lodged against former MP Anwarul Haq and his supporters for allegedly opening fire on a disputed land near Mehsaul Chowk on Sunday.
Noble deed
Patna: The Narendra Modi Vichar Manch on Sunday celebrated the birthday of BJP Rajya Sabha MP C.P. Thakur at Rainbow Home with orphan children. Thakur cut cakes and distributed sweets and clothes among the inmates.
