Threat to MLA

Patna, June 24: BJP MLA from Katihar's Pranpur seat Vinod Kumar Singh allegedly received death threats over the phone on Friday.

He immediately alerted Katihar superin-tendent of police Siddarth Mohan Jain, who ordered the station house officer of Mansahi police station to lodge a complaint and initiate action against the caller.

Arrest

Patna: Muzaffarpur resident Rajesh Kumar was arrested for allegedly providing a wrong date of birth and father's name to the Bihar School Examination Board to clear his Class X examination in 2000.

CM security

Patna: Five security personnel of chief minister Nitish Kumar's cavalcade suffered injuries on Friday when an SUV hit their vehicle in Mehandia police station area of Arwal district. They have been admitted to a local government primary health centre. The SUV's driver has been detained.

Wife torched

Buxar: A man allegedly set his wife Durga Devi on fire following a brawl over liquor consumption at Raghunathpur village in Brahmapur police station area on Saturday. The woman has been admitted to a government hospital where her condition is said to be critical. Her husband Bablu Kamkar is absconding.

Gaya: Burglars broke into the house of a retired army officer, Ramashray Prasad, at Magadh Colony here on Friday night.

Patna: A police team carried out raids in search of Patna deputy collector land reforms Mithilesh Kumar for his involvement in issuing ownership certificate to one Devendra Kumar, who allegedly purchased government land in Kankarbagh through fraudulent means.

Accident

Patna: Two youths were crushed to death when a speeding truck hit their motorbike near Nandlal Chhapra on New Bypass road here on Saturday.

Murder

Patna: A group of Maoists on Saturday killed a middle-aged woman, Jaya Devi, at Kauakaul in Nawada after branding her a police informer.

Competition

Patna: Around 100 students took part in a painting competition on UN-declared Day against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking organised by Disha de-addiction and rehabilitation centre in association with Narcotics Control Bureau and economic offences unit of Bihar police, on Saturday.
