Youths die of shock

Saharsa, Oct. 23: Two teenaged boys, identified as Shambhu Sharma (18) and Vikash Sharma (17), were electrocuted and six others suffered burn injuries when they came in contact with a live wire during immersion of Durga idols at Barsan in Saharsa district last night.

Shambhu and Vikas died on the spot, police said today.

Scam slur

New Delhi (PTI): The CBI on Friday filed a chargesheet against JDU MP Anil Kumar Sahani and three others in the alleged LTC (leave travel concession) scam that broke out in 2013 with the agency claiming they caused a loss of Rs 23.71 lakh to the exchequer. Sahani has denied the charges.

Lalu poll wave

Chhapra: RJD chief Lalu Prasad at an election rally on Friday in Maker, Saran district, said there was a wave in support of the Grand Alliance. He raised the issues of price rise of pulses and claimed the Centre was doing nothing for the welfare of poor people.

Chhapra: Bhojpuri singer Malini Awasthi on Friday urged the people to exercise their right to vote and come out in large numbers on October 28 when Saran district votes in the Assembly elections.

Patna: Governor Ram Nath Kovind urged the people to follow the path shown by Hazrat Imam Hussain and maintain social harmony, on the eve of Muharram.

Munger: Four persons were killed in a bike collision near Munger on Thursday evening.
