Patna, Aug. 12: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) registered 100 per cent result in the improvemental examination of Class X, the results of which were declared today. In all, 856 students from Patna region had appeared in the examination held in July.
The deputy director of CBSE, Patna region, K.K. Jain, today told The Telegraph: “In all, 856 students from Bihar and Jharkhand had appeared for the improvemental examination this year. It’s a good sign and shows that the examinees had worked hard for the examination.”
Ten centres had been selected for the examinations, which comprised Notre Dame Academy, Loyola High School, Gyan Niketan, DAV BSEB, DAV Khagaul, Army School Danapur Cantonment, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Danapur Cantonment, KV Bailey Road, KV, Kankerbagh and KV Khagaul.
The improvemental examination for Class X students was held from July 16 to July 23.
Students of Class X have the liberty to appear in as many subjects as they wish. If a student gets Grade E or E1 in any subject in his Class X board exams, then he/she is supposed to sit for the examination. CBSE had introduced grading system of evaluation in Class X since 2010.
Amit Kumar, a student who had appeared in the improvemental examination, said: “Not only me but all my friends who took the same have been given better grades. Now, we do not have to lose a year and we can get admission in Class XI. Though we cannot try for admission in reputed schools, we are happy that we have made it through. This means a lot to all of us. It’s the registration time for Class XII board exams too as the results are out. This is what we were waiting for.”
Another student, Rahul, was of the same opinion. Rahul said: “I am happy as I have fared better in the subject I had applied for in the improvemental examination.”
