| Director-general of police (training) V. Narayan urged his men to be more people-friendly and to use force sparingly.He said this while addressing the passing-out parade of newly appointed deputy superintendents of police at the police training school, Nathnagar, on Monday. “Every police personnel should be people-friendly. Instead of using the lathi, you have to apply tactics to control odd situations,” he said. Narayan added that with the change in types of crime, particularly the high-tech ones, the police should be acquainted with modern technology.
