Patna, Sept. 24: A heritage gallery of State Bank of India (SBI) was inaugurated today to showcase the bank’s journey since it became operational in the capital in 1860.

SBI’s managing director A. Krishna Kumar and Patna circle chief general manager Jeevandas Narayan opened the gallery at its main branch in the city. The bank’s history has been portrayed through artefacts, documents, murals, paintings and photographs from the past.

The gallery would be open during the banking hours.

The gallery would also provide visitors a peep into the bank’s past through documents, photographs and paintings of eminent personalities such as Annie Besant, Rabindranath Tagore, JRD Tata and JC Bose who were once SBI customers.
