Chhapra, Nov. 15: Former chief minister Nitish Kumar, during the third day of his Sampark Yatra today, expressed satisfaction over the results of works initiated by him and his government.

Addressing a JDU workers’ meeting on the premises of Ram Jaipal Singh Yadav College, Nitish underlined the achievements of his government and exposed the claims of the BJP and Narendra Modi.

Keeping in mind the inauguration of Barh thermal power plant today, Nitish said Bihar was a unique state with no electricity production. He had vowed that he would not come to seek vote in 2015 if he failed to improve power situation in the state. “I’ve fulfilled my promise and come for the reward. We have done unbelievable things in the form of improving electricity,” he added, referring to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his work in the field of improving power situation.

Making a scathing attack on the BJP and Modi, he said the party and its leaders only make false promises and spread rumours to grab power. “They have succeeded this time. But keep an eye on them so that it is not repeated,” he said. He referred to the promises made by Modi before general election and said nothing was fulfilled.

Referring to Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the Saran MP and minister of state at the Centre, he said Rudy was befooling people that he would be made railway minister. “What happened? These leaders of such party only befool people,” he stressed.

On Jan Dhan Yojana, he said not a single pie has been deposited with this account. Addressing in the form of conversation and making a rapport with the crowd, Nitish said the BJP criticises him for shaking hands with Lalu Prasad and says “jungle raj-II has dawned”.

“I assure you that we would not compromise on law and order situation. But what is the BJP doing in Maharashtra? They joined hands with the NCP for forming a government. They used to abuse the NCP as a corrupt party. Now, who is promoting corruption?” he asked.
