Patna, July 1: Former principal of DAV Khagaul A.C. Jain and principal of DAV Shastrinagar Krishna Banerjee have filed anticipatory bail pleas in the court of the district and session judge, Patna, in a case related to land dispute.

In context of the two FIRs lodged against them in connection with the land dispute, that resulted in a loss of Rs 4.21 crore for the DAV group, the two have filed the petitions. The hearing of the case would be on July 7.

The present regional director, DAV group, J.V. Kulkarni (Bihar-zone-1) had lodged two FIRs against them on May 17.

One under case number 58/11 was lodged at Khagaul police station whereas the other under case number 155/11 at Shastrinagar police station.

The former regional director of DAV group (combined Bihar-north and south), R.K. Chauhan, and a few more people had been named in the FIR. They have been charged with committing fraud related to land dispute to the tune of Rs 4.21 crore.

The plot is located near DAV Khagaul and was purchased because DAV Khagaul and Shastrinagar wings needed some more land.

The owners of the plot not being available, the agents dealt with the entire process.

Later on, it was realised that the documents related to the land deal were all forged and the deal was fake.

Arvind Kumar and Upendra Kumar, the two agents involved in the deal were arrested some time later.

Sources said that Upendra Kumar, who was released on temporary bail till June 20, seeing his commitment to refund the whole amount, denied to pay the money and is roaming free.

Legal advisor to DAV group, K.D. Sharma said: “The former principal of DAV Khagaul A.C. Jain and the principal of DAV Shastrinagar Krishna Banerjee have filed petitions in the court of the district and session judge, Patna.”

An officer at the Shastrinagar police station said: “Investigation is on. We have not yet received the supervision report regarding the FIR (under case number 155/11) lodged at the police station.”

The acting station house officer of Khagaul police station, Harpreet Kaur, said: “Investigation is still going on in the matter. Upendra Kumar had surrendered regarding the case (on May 17) and got bail. As far as his bail till June 20 is concerned, it is in the purview of the court. And in the earlier case, we have not got anything in writing so far.”
