Expelled BJP leader Sudhir Sharma on Friday said he had been unfairly penalised, and blamed state party president Nityanand Rai and party organisational secretary Nagendra Nath of framing him under false charges.
Sudhir was expelled for six years for anti-party activities. He was thrown out of the party over his alleged involvement in posters that had sprung up in Patna against Nagendra Nath on July 11, a day ahead of BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit to the state capital.
The posters, which were put up at few places near the Boring Road roundabout area, had pictures and slogans directly attacking Nagendra.
BJP workers had hurriedly removed the posters. Nagendra had also lodged a case with the Kotwali police station over the posters.
Sudhir held a media meet on Friday to attack Nagendra And Rai.
“The two leaders are jealous of me and have targeted me with ulterior motives. On the behest of these two leaders, the Kotwali police had lodged a case against me and clamped serious sections against me. I am scared for my life after the incident,” Sudhir claimed.
The Kotwali police had in August first week arrested one Ritesh Sharma, a BJP leader and relative of Sudhir.
Sudhir on Friday demanded a probe by the BJP high command.
“The BJP’s claims of being a party with difference are just a myth,” Sudhir fumed. “The party has expelled me for six years for an offence which is yet to be proved by any court, while on other hand the party has not taken any action against Nityanand Rai against whom there were reports of vulgar chats with some girls.”
Sources said that Rai had lodged a case with the Kotwali police station alleging that his Facebook account had been hacked.
Sudhir also attacked Nagendra and alleged financial improprieties in the construction of party offices at different districts of the state. Neither Nagendra Nath nor Rai was available for comment.
However, Bihar BJP vice-president Devesh Kumar said: “The party disciplinary committee took the decision to expel Sudhir Sharma as the allegations against him were found to be true.”
