Patna, Feb. 4: To celebrate the completion of 50 years of Bhojpuri cinema, a helpline is going to organise Tele-Cine Awards for the actors from Bihar working in Hindi and regional films. It would be the first of its kind award function for Bhojpuri artistes.

Founder and president of ‘Bihari Help Line’ Ashwani Kumar Singh today announced that the award ceremony will be organised in August. Tele-Cine Award will be given to artistes who have been active in Bhojpuri cinema and made the dialect popular outside the state.

“Too many award functions are held every year in Mumbai. The real fans are in Bihar and they should get an opportunity to see them to participate in such a function,” said Singh.

He further said: “Thousands of artistes from Bihar are working in different films and serials outside the state and the people sitting in Mumbai decide and give them awards. The motto behind starting Tele-Cine awards is to bring all those artistes on one platform so that people from this state can judge their talent. Bhojpuri artistes have created an identity for themselves and there are many Bhojpuri serials currently on air. This particular award will boost their morale.”

Singh also said that the awards function will be held in Patna and artistes would be honoured in different categories like national and international awards.

Bihari Help Line working president Vipin Kumar Singh said: “This year Bhojpuri cinema will complete its golden jubilee and it’s be a great opportunity for us to organise such programme. We will also call artistes from other states like Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand who have been contributing to the Bhojpuri industry.”
