Hundreds of ITI students went on the rampage and demonstrated at their respective centres on Tuesday in protest against cancellation of their semester III and semester IV exams.

They boycotted Tuesday’s examination and blocked roads at different places by burning tyres. They raised slogans against the ITI administration. As a result the entire traffic system in Ara came to a halt and pedestrians and schoolgoing children had face a lot of problems.

The agitating students wanted results of exams written earlier to be declared and cancellation of Tuesday’s examination. The police remained mute spectators while students went on the rampage.

All efforts by the SDPO and SDO to admonish the students went in vain.

ITI students Sameer Kumar Tiwari and Brij Bhushan said the ITI administration had conducted semester III and IV exams in August but later cancelled them and announced exams afresh but the students are not ready to sit for the exams afresh and want results of the exams held in August to be announced.

They alleged that the ITI administration was harassing students deliberately and questioned the justification of holding the exams afresh.

They further said that the students boycotted Tuesday’s exams and demanded that results be announced on the basis of exams taken earlier and said the students would not allow the ITI administration to play with their future.
