Gopalganj, April 19: Auditors of state health committee have reported that during the tenure of the clerk of Barauli health centre Manoj Yadav misappropriation of Rs 95.17 lakh was recorded.

The report said Rs 92.47 lakh and Rs 2.7 lakh were withdrawn from two separate accounts.

Manoj Yadav is absconding and an FIR has been lodged against him. But the copy of the FIR is lying with R. Tabassum who was in-charge of the health centre. It was supposed to be with the office. The audit report said the money was withdrawn between January 2009 and November 2009.

Sources said Dr R. Tabassum is equally responsible for this misappropriation. The report states had she been more careful, a misappropriation would not have happened at this scale.

The report adds that in several health centres the registers were not maintained.
