Patna: Medicos from the seven All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will keep their white coats and stethoscopes away for sometime and instead, wear their sporting shoes.

AIIMS-Patna is all set to organise KAIZEN-2018 from March 20 to March 24, which will see students from all the seven AIIMS competing with students of reputable institutions, including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and National Institute of Technology (NIT) among others, in literary, sports and cultural programmes.

The fest is scheduled to be inaugurated on March 19 evening and chief minister Nitish Kumar has been invited for the inaugural ceremony.

"The fest will be different because students from all seven AIIMS and technical institutions apart from other institutions from Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal will take part in the events," said Vivek Ranjan, an AIIMS-Patna student and a co-ordinator of the event.

Myle Murlidharan, another AIIMS student and technical committee secretary of KAIZEN, said: "This time, we have added two social causes to our fest. While on March 4, we will hold Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in which students and faculties of AIIMS-Patna will take part, on January 19, we will hold a voluntary blood donation camp."

Tushar Anand, another co-ordinator, said: "Kumar Vishwas and Rahat Indori will share jokes and shaayris at a kavi sammelan on March 21 , while on March 22, Abhishek Upmanyu will make people laugh," said Tushar.
