Motihari/Jehanabad, Nov. 11 (PTI): Five persons were killed in two separate road accidents in East Champaran and Jehanabad districts, police said today.

Three pedestrians were killed when a van hit them near Paharpur police station in East Champaran on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as Ranjiv Sahi (20), Rajkumar Singh (32) and Maneshwar Mahato. All three died on the spot, the police said, adding that the driver and cleaner of the vehicle were arrested.

In the other incident, the driver of a tractor trolley lost control and it overturned killing two occupants at Malahi village in Jehanabad.
