Bettiah: Three people, including two children, were killed and nine others were injured in three separate incidents in different parts of East Champaran and West Champaran on Friday.
Two children, Gudiya Kumari (2) and Rinki Kumari (4), died on the spot at Mishrauliya in East Champaran's Chiraiyya police station when they were run over by a speeding tractor around 9am.
"The driver of the tractor fled from the place of the accident leaving the vehicle behind," said Awdesh Kumar, officer-in-charge of Chiraiyya police station.
The officer added that the bodies were sent for a post-mortem.
In Bettiah, one person died and two others were injured when a tractor driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve and rammed into a roadside house at Pipra under the jurisdiction of Mufassil police station.
The condition of two injured people is stated to be serious.
In another incident, seven persons were injured after the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a tractor at Jhumari Mor on Mainatand-Bettiah road in West Champaran district under the jurisdiction of the Balthar police station.
