Purnea, July 16: Ten persons, including five women, were arrested for practising with fake medical degrees, during raids carried out on their private clinics by a special district administration team today.
The arrested persons, identified as Sumitra Chaudhary, F.A. Khan, S. Biswas, Mohammed Sohrab, Estiyat Alam, Anjana D. Kapoor, Ranju Priya, S.K. Gupta, M.A. Raja and M. Thakur, were brought to Khajanchi Haat police station.
Based on a tip-off about the unauthorised medical practice, the district magistrate formed 15 teams each consisting of a doctor and a police officer to conduct surprise inspections. Certificates and medical licences were seized during the raids.
