Malala, Ziauddin |
London, Jan. 3 (PTI): The father of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by Taliban for supporting education for girls, has been given a job in Pakistan’s consulate in Birmingham.
Ziauddin Yousafzai will lead the education section in the consulate. The position is for three years, which may be extended for a further two, BBC reported quoting the Pakistan government.
Malala, 15, is being treated at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being shot just above her left eye in Pakistan’s Swat Valley on October 9 last year. She was flown to the hospital to receive specialist treatment.
At the time of the shooting, Ziauddin ran a school in the Valley.
