Miley ‘bong’

Los Angeles, Dec. 11 (Reuters): A home video of singer Miley Cyrus using a bong apparently to smoke the hallucinogenic herb salvia hit the Internet yesterday, capping a year which has seen the teen star throw aside her squeaky clean Disney image.

The video obtained by celebrity website TMZ.com was said to have been shot days after Cyrus’s 18th birthday in November.

It shows the star of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana giggling and laughing after smoking from a glass pipe, commonly called a bong. TMZ said sources close to Cyrus told the website that the video was shot by one of Cyrus’s friends, but the substance was not marijuana.

Reese film

London (PTI): Actress Reese Witherspoon is not keen to star in science fiction movies as the genre does not offer substantial roles to female leads. “The movies that are being made feel different. There are a lot of really, really big movies about robots and things — and there’s not a part for a 34-year-old woman in a robot movie,” said Witherspoon.

Miller envy

London (PTI): Actress Sienna Miller wants to live like her friend, actress Keira Knightley who enjoys a quiet home-bound life with boyfriend Rupert Friend. Miller, who is dating actor Jude Law, befriended Knightley on the sets of The Edge of Love and envies her peaceful life, reports Vogue magazine. “She and Rupert live a wonderful life. They read books and discuss topics and cook for their friends. It’s the kind of life I aspire to,” said Miller.

Richie knot

London (PTI): Socialite Nicole Richie, who is all set to tie the knot with fiance Joel Madden this weekend, still has not decided which gown she will wear for her wedding. The 26-year-old former reality star has narrowed her choice to two gowns for the big day. “She’s deciding between two dresses; Marchesa and vintage Chanel,” a source said.

London (PTI): Singer Nicole Scherzinger does not believe in dieting because she feels that they often trigger overindulgence. The Pussycat Dolls singer, who has a slender figure, has tried various diets in the past and says she always ended up eating more. “I’ve tried every diet out there and they don’t work, because I want the foods that I restrain myself from eating.
