Migrant worry

Luxembourg, April 20 (Reuters): EU foreign ministers met today under pressure to produce more than words and save desperate migrants drowning in the Mediterranean.

The death toll from yesterday's disaster off the coast of Libya was uncertain but likely to be the highest in modern times. Hundreds of kilometres to the east, coast guards were struggling to save migrants from another vessel destroyed after running aground off the Greek island of Rhodes.

S. Korea PM

Seoul (Reuters): South Korea's Prime Minister, who has denied a claim that he took illegal funds from a businessman who committed suicide, has offered to resign, Yonhap news agency said on Tuesday.

Dhaka citizens

Dhaka (Reuters): Bangladesh said on Sunday it had brought back 337 of its citizens from Yemen with India's help. The total number of Bangladeshis evacuated so far reached 500.

Thai ivory

Bangkok (Reuters): Thai customs officials have seized four tonnes of ivory worth $6 million, authorities said on Monday, in what the department called the largest bust of its kind in Thailand's history.
