The magic of Woodstock Over 35 years ago, a mammoth gathering celebrated a rock festival, which serves as a standard for music festivals all over the world even today. The Woodstock festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the “hippie era”. Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the weekend. Many of the performers went on to be conferred with the status of legends in their diverse fields of music — Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joan Baez and Richie Havens, to name just a few. Woodstock was assembled through the joint efforts of Michael Lang, John Roberts, Joel Rosenman and Artie Kornfeld. The event has proven to be unique and legendary, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history. Woodstock Revisited, presented by Vodafone, McDowell’s Royal Challenge, Open Doors and CC & FC, will be a celebration of a classic collection of music of the happening Seventies. Arunima Dasgupta, Rajiv, Ananya, Tania Sen and Jayanta Dasgupta, along with The Saturday Night Blues Band, will recreate the magic of Woodstock.
